Columbine by Dave Cullen

I'm currently reading a book about the Columbine tragedy that occurred in 1999, simply titled "Columbine." It's written in true novel form, full of personal interviews with victims and law enforcement, with a great deal of psychological diagnoses directed towards the two killers, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. The author, Dave Cullen, does a good job describing the planning of the tragedy, the killings, the victim accounts, the media perception of the crimes, and the assessment by law enforcement. He uncovers several cover-ups of complaints about Eric Harris & information about the thefts & vandalism committed by both Harris & Klebold. He debunks the tale about the girl who supposedly told the killers that she believed in God before Harris shot her (no witnesses recall that exchange) & tells about how the survivors who were wounded had to piece their lives back together. Information of what was found in the journals kept by the killers is compelling. Sketches and pages from the book have been scanned and placed in the back of the book for perusal.

If you're interested in reading a seemingly accurate account of the crimes and what lead to them, this is a good book to read. There are no photos, but let's face it, you can find the photos & videos online just about anywhere. I recommend this book for anyone seeking answers about this hideous school shooting.
